DESCRIPTION: The price is for 1 antique framed hand painted photograph. Nice old authentic Salt Print photograph or albumenized Salt Print photograph. Hand painted in water color paints. I love the old Folk Art look to this primitive photo. Not only is the gentleman and dog painted, but the background is too.

Great Folk Art scene of gentleman holding a cigar in one hand and a hat and walking stick in the other and his dog following closely. You don't see dogs in the early salt print photos making this a scarce piece.

The Salt print is in an antique frame that is not as old as the photo but dates to the 1800s. Salt print in good condition some toning up in the sky area and overall toning on back. Antique frame that dates to late 1800s and is not as old as the photo. Frame painted black with touch ups, original wavy glass, and original backboard which has split. Hard to find fully painted portrait with a dog and background. Displays beautifully and has a great Folk Art look. Nice size with frame measuring 14" by 11" at extremes. Salt print measures 9 1/4" x 12". We have been long time collectors and dealers of early English Transferware, Quality 19th century furniture, and Victoriana. We always strive to describe the items to the best of our abilities.
