Interesting family history - when Gertrude was 9 her father was murdered by horse thieves, and two of her brothers were Texas Rangers. Gertude lived until 1960 and never married.

A little bit found online. Gertrude Dyches, daughter of William Dyches and Tabitha Allan "Tabbie" May Dyches, was born September 24, 1880. She attended Add-Ran College at Thorp Spring, Texas about 1900.

She joined her mother and siblings in executing a deed February 5, 1906 to 54.5 acres, "part of the Josiah Dyches Survey, " according to Williamson County Deed Book 118, page 184. She died unmarried in San Angelo in 1960 and was buried beside her mother. She was an outstanding horsewoman and an expert markswoman with a pistol. Photographed by Heiman & Schlueter of Granger.
